I am Dar, a Sudanese citizen. I sought medical treatment in Egypt upon suspecting I might have breast cancer. I discovered a small lump in my breast that confirmed my fears. Intriguingly, I had a strange dream about having cancer two weeks prior, which made me even more worried, which heightened my suspicions.
Based on this, I decided to travel to Egypt, renowned for its exceptional medical professionals and advanced healthcare. Many people recommended Baheya Hospitals and Centers, a specialized breast cancer center, so I made it my first destination upon arrival.
After contacting Baheya’s hotline and scheduling a checkup, a biopsy confirmed a stage three malignant breast tumor. My physician expressed concern over the delay in seeking medical attention, emphasizing the importance of early detection.
A treatment plan was devised, starting with chemo. The type of surgery would be determined based on the tumor’s response to the treatment. Unfortunately, following chemo, a total mastectomy was considered essential due to the tumor’s continued growth. Despite this, I remained calm and felt supported by those around me. Attending treatment sessions brought me joy as I was surrounded by loved ones.
I am grateful for the support and care I received at the hospital, especially considering the limited support from my family, with the exception of my younger brother. I advise any woman diagnosed with breast cancer not to fear, as treatment is effective, particularly when the disease is detected early.
